In addition to her work at Counseling Associates, Cheryl is an Advisor and Field Instructor with the Boston University School of Social Work and is a contracted social work provider with the Committee for Public Counsel Services, the MA public defender office. She enjoys yoga, hiking, and outdoor activities. Cheryl is an avid traveler who appreciates experiencing and learning about other cultures. Cheryl offers both youth and adults a supportive, empowering, therapeutic experience. Cheryl works from a strength-based, humanistic perspective, incorporating Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and DBT skill-building. She has worked extensively with youth in foster care and with court-involved adolescents and adults. ![]() She has a particular interest in work with adolescents and young adults, and in working with individuals with histories of trauma and behavioral challenges. In her work with couples and families, Jen supports clients in understanding the communication and thought patterns that cause distress and helps to co-develop strategies to resolve challenges. Through this relationship, Jen works with her clients to develop an individualized and strengths-based approach. Jen takes great pride in building a strong, trusting, supportive therapeutic connection with each client she serves.
